Slice Master is a casual, single-player, one-button game where the primary goal is to slice nearly everything that appears on screen. Success in the game relies on precision, timing, and careful discernment to achieve a high score. Advancing in the game and unlocking new blades and skins is accomplished by skillfully using flying knives.

The game is controlled with a single action: either pressing the spacebar on the keyboard or using a left mouse click. This single input causes the knife to flip and jump. The core gameplay loop involves slicing a variety of objects such as fruits, shapes, and furniture. Players must avoid specific obstacles, notably pink spiked metal shapes, which will end the current round and send the player back to the beginning. White walls should also be avoided as they are merely holding materials for the knife, not targets. As players slice objects, they accumulate coins. These coins can be spent in an in-game shop to purchase upgrades like sharper blades, swords, and maces. At the conclusion of each level, players have an opportunity to significantly boost their score by hitting a numeric target. Hitting targets that apply addition or multiplication to the score is beneficial, while targets that subtract or divide the score will reduce it. A special "BONUS" target can appear, and hitting it unlocks a bonus level. In these bonus rounds, players can slice targets to earn a higher amount of coins than in regular levels. The game features nine different knife skins that can be unlocked by collecting enough coins, with later skins becoming progressively more expensive. Despite the simple controls, the game is considered relatively difficult due to the need to avoid hazardous pink platforms and the challenge of accurately hitting the best score multipliers at the end of levels.
